Winter Hits, Fritz von Runte’s annual mixtape has a new home. Now, all mixtapes will be published on WinterHits.com. Some of them are familiar to the subscribers of this site - like Nebraskapism, published here under our Mixcasts section. Some long lost gems like the very first Winter Hits tape can be found there and curiosities, like the piece Fritz produced when he turned 32 years old.

Gina Cutillo remixes will be out this summer

Gina Cutillo’s remixes of her hit single Remember You will be out soon. Its main mix, one of Fritz von Runte’s Redesign Series, is included in her latest album The Lover – available on iTunes. But the unreleased extended and dub versions of the single will finally surface this summer with exclusive artwork.

Nebraskapism

This is essentially a mixtape made for a trip Fritz and his girlfriend have made in early 2009, driving across the USA. It’s a downtempo mix with some experiments. The original description, taken from LAtoNY.com

A relaxing yet slightly disturbing chill out mix made to honour the state of Nebraska and its notable citzens, like Malcolm X, Marlon Brando and Nick Nolte. The radio scanning present throughout the mix was recorded in the same day the latter were arrested in California, back in 2002, by reporters trying to grab some information about the Nebraskan. Mixed by Fritz von Runte.

Tiger Ghee remixes

Fritz von Runte’s recent take on Sisters of Transistors’ Tiger Ghee has been around, sent to a few DJs in the north-west but so far hasn’t been made available. It will most possibly be featured on Fritz von Runte’s upcoming compilation of his Redesigns. More to come.

Fritz to remix Freebass

Sensacional news! Fritz von Runte is set to remix Freebass, the manchester supergroup comprising members of every mancunian’s favourite bands – New Order, The Smiths and Stone Roses. Their first EP, Worlds Collide, was just released on melodic bass master Peter Hook’s new record label Haçienda Records. The band took almost 5 years to release it’s first output and it’s worth a listen. The remixes will include tracks with The Charlatans’ Tim Burgess and Howard ‘Mr Nice’ Marks. More to come…

Marshall Records websites revamped

Marshall Records, Fritz von Runte anarchist record label has had its online portfolio revamped. The Beatles Hate and Hell, Lily Allen Remixed, Renegade Boys and the Lycantropii Collection have new interfaces and all the tracks are still available for free – as long as you don’t support the war. Marshall Records’ unique technology makes the download impossible for those who like guns and violence.
